Brahmas are one of the largest chicken breeds, with roosters averaging 10-12 pounds and hens around 8-10 pounds. Some exceptional roosters can reach up to 18 pounds.
Brahma hens are reliable layers of medium to large brown eggs, and notably, they often continue production through the winter months when other breeds slow down.
They take longer to mature than commercial breeds, reaching full size around 8 to 12 months of age
